Find your most valuable supporters and the ones about to slip away. Score any donor on Recency, Frequency, and Monetary value, see which segment they fall into, and get a recommended next step. Score one donor, or upload your whole list.
Score your donorsRFM is a simple, proven way to rank donors by how likely they are to give again.
How long since the donor's last gift. Recent donors are the most likely to give again.
How many gifts they made in your lookback period. Frequent givers are your loyal base.
How much they give, measured as average gift (or total giving, if you prefer).
Score a single donor in seconds, or upload your list to segment everyone at once.
Upload or paste a CSV with one row per donor. We look for these columns (names are flexible): Last gift date, Number of gifts, Total given, and optionally a Donor ID or name. Tip: use a donor ID instead of names.

Recency is measured from this date. Defaults to today.
These starting cutoffs are a common baseline, not an industry standard. Every organization's giving patterns differ, so tune them to your file. Changes apply instantly.
Months since last gift, at most
Gifts in lookback period, at least
Each donor lands in one segment based on their R, F, and M scores. Segments are checked in the order shown, and a donor is placed in the first one they match.
RFM stands for Recency, Frequency, and Monetary value. Each donor gets a 1–5 score on each measure, where 5 is best. The three scores are shown together as a code (for example 5-4-3, written "543") and added up for a total out of 15.
The code tells you why a donor scored the way they did: a 155 (lapsed, but frequent and generous) and a 551 (recent and loyal, but small gifts) both total 11 but need very different outreach. The total is handy for quick sorting.
Quintiles compare donors to each other, so they always spread your file across all five scores. That makes them a good default for list analysis. Fixed bands use the same cutoffs every time, so scores stay comparable from one quarter to the next and work for scoring a single donor.
Average gift separates "how much" from "how often," which Frequency already measures. If you'd rather reward total giving, switch the Monetary basis under "Adjust scoring bands."
Recency changes every day, so re-score at least before each major appeal. Many teams re-score quarterly.
