Updated for 2026

Four upgrades to this year's plan

The basics haven't changed: plan early, show impact, and say thank you. Here's where to put any extra effort this year.

Lead with monthly giving

A one-time GivingTuesday gift is a great start. Asking for a monthly gift, on the form and in follow-up, turns one day into recurring support.

Let your data pick the segments

Use recency, frequency, and gift size (RFM) to decide who gets which ask. A lapsed donor and a monthly donor shouldn't get the same email. Try our free donor RFM calculator.

Design for the phone first

Many donors will see your appeal on a phone. Test the full gift flow on mobile, keep the form short, and offer the fastest payment options your processor supports.

Plan stewardship before the day

Write your thank-yous, results update, and welcome series ahead of time, so new donors hear from you within days, not weeks.
